Short, descriptive, easy-to-remember telephone numbers like #TAXI represent the most convenient method of communication for North Americans, who prefer voice phone calls over text messaging or data transmission. CellWand facilitates rapid processing of these calls by using voice recognition and location-based software (LBS) to automatically determine a caller’s location, thereby providing mobile users with a quick connection to the right business or relevant information.

Building on success

Our pioneering service, #TAXI, is currently generating substantial revenue for all the major Canadian wireless carriers, including: Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless, Fido and Telus Mobility among others.

Buoyed by the success of #TAXI in Canada, CellWand is now expanding coverage in the U.S. as #TAXI is now available to more than 165 million US mobile phone subscribers. Specifically, #TAXI is now available to all AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Alltel and Boost Mobile subscribers, with the remaining US carriers making the service available in the near future.  

To build on the growing adoption of #TAXI and its revenue model, CellWand is now aggressively developing a suite of new applications to provide mobile phone users with easier access to information about a wide range of popular services. Our newest service, called #PIZZA, will be launched in North America in 2008.
